Archival Pigment Digital Prints from scanned 4×5 negatives
I have set out to understand our veiled human identity through the lens of my view camera. In making portraits, I search for details and gestures that transcend the masks that we all wear. My desire is to connect with individuals and capture a moment when I see past their public persona. In this way I am investigating the world around me and to understand how I might belong. As if looking in a mirror I find true beauty and worth revealed through our flaws and imperfections, exposed through the cracks in our personae.
I continue my adventure, one portrait at a time, and one investigation of a persona at a time.
